Vontimitta Kodandarama Swamy Temple

Sometimes it is not just the architecture and sculptures but also the history that hooks you up. Vontimitta is one among them where you can enjoy the elegant architectures , sculptures and the history. History of Vontimitta:  1. The area in and around Vontimitta was famous for Rishis / Munis who used to perform great penance and yogas during Thretha Yuga, when Bhagwan Sree Ram was born. Demons used to create lot of hurdles when these Rishis used to perform Yagnas. Rama along with Sita and Lakshmana appeared with his archery (Ambulapodhi), Small sword (Pidibaku) and a long bow (Kodandam) and killed demons and saved Rishis. As Rama held Kodandam, he was called Kodandarama Swamy. It is also said that Rama, at the request of Sitha has pierced an arrow in the earth to draw water from the ground to create a pool, known as 'Ramathirtham'. Horsley Hills: Add it to your bucket list

It was the most awaited trip for us as its been cancelled many times. Even this time , we were not sure whether our trip to Horsley hills would be successful as we had to start early in the morning.  May be our new Zesty had made us excited :D Chittoor to Horsley hills-  124 kms Here is a video on the Chittoor to Madanpalli highway. As it is Bahubali time, even our background song is from Bahubali. Selfie time with family Having traveled to and stayed in many amazing places, with such high expectations, this place comes along that completely takes me by surprise.  As it is July, we are expecting nothing much but to our shock the climate was so chilling  and windy. Bangalore- Kukke Subramanya-  Dharmastala- Manglore- Udipi- Cochi- Munnar- Thekkadi. Day -1:                                                                                                                                                  Reached Bangalore at 6pm after a  5 hour journey from Chittoor. The actual trip begins from here. Subramanya Road Convenient train journeys always happen in the night-board, sleep and disembark for a full day of whatever.After a 6 hour overnight train journey, we reached SBHR station at 5 am and it took 20 mins to reach the Kukke Subramanya by bus. PS: Buses are very frequent from SBHR station to Kukke
