The colourful state of India- Rajasthan

Rajasthan always has special place in my mind as it is of my "Taste" with full of bright colors, majestic architectures, ethnic jewelry and culture.  So I'm damn happy and joyous to attend my favorite workshop in my favorite state.

My itinerary includes first day in Jaipur city, next 5 days in Amity University, Jaipur, one full day to Ajmer and Pushkar, and last half day at Jaipur and then return to Hyderabad.

Day 1( Sunday) : Dec 2nd, 2017

Our flight was at 9 20 a.m. from Rajiv Gandhi International Airport. So Nithin(Husband) dropped us( myself and mom) at airport at 7:30 a.m.

Flight charges from Hyderabad to Jaipur:11,198/- for 2 and Jaipur to Hyderabad : 10,742/-.
This was my mom's first flight experience and a mandatory selfie!!
We didn't even entered city but the flavor of royalty hit us from the airport itself.
Reached Jaipur by noon and booked a cab to our pre booked hotel from Oyo rooms, i.e, Royal Sheraton. On the way, we came across the beautiful Albert Hall Museum, Hawa Mahal and can't wait to explore.
View of Birla Mandir from cab!!

And my personal favorite Hawa Mahal!!

As city palace is just walkable distance from our hotel, immediately after check-in, we started to explore city palace.

City Palace:

Mubarak Mahal- reception center during Maharaja Madho Sing-II King's period. Now a museum for textiles!!!

Silver Urn- capacity 4000litres. Maharaja Madho Singh-II used this to carry water of Ganges to drink during his visit to England as drinking English water was a sin.

Crystal Chandeliers at Diwan-i- Aam - Hall of public audience

Entrance of Chandra Mahal

Lotus Gate representing Summer season and dedicated to Lord Shiva and Parvathi- This little girl seems to learn poses from me!!

Diwan-E-Khas, Mubarak Mahal- A hall for private audience.
Explored it for an hour, and then was the time for some food in our tummies. For instant energy we had kulfi ,lemonade and colorful chat. And then walked towards Jantar Mantar.
Jantar Mantar: (Calculating Instrument)
Credits to mom for capturing this weird expression!!

Posing!!

This was the Saviour for the day!!!

Spent an hour there by capturing pictures with the instruments.

We thought of exploring Hawa Mahal but our auto driver suggested to visit Jaipur Handicrafts shop. We bought several traditional stuff like Bandini and lehria sarees, dupattas and gagras.
PS: Don't buy in Govt shops as they were quite expensive.
As we still had time, we headed towards exploring the most majestic Hawa Mahal.

A ride on this battery car was fun!!
 Hawa Mahal:

As we can't visit any historical places but a light show after 5,  we caught a bus to Amer/Amber fort to spend time watching lazer show. But we felt it was so deserted and returned back to Pink city.
Mom got a company to talk!!
View of Amber fort from bus!!!

You can find colorful shops selling traditional Rajasthani stuff along the roads of Pink city and one can't resist buying them. We went to a shop and almost spent half an hour buying various items like bedsheets, dupattas and gagras, jutis. Then we went back to our room with full baggage after having dinner in a nearby restaurant.

Day 2( Monday): Dec 3rd, 2017

We got ready by 8 a.m. and had complementary breakfast in our hotel and then booked Uber hire to Amity University, Jaipur.

Yummy Aloo parathas with curd!!!

The hospitality of those Amity people was truly disgusting as they don't pick up the calls property and communication skills are worst. After waiting for an hour we got our guest room.
But the best thing about the workshop is the resource person who is very dedicated and talented.
My workshop sessions starts at 9 and ends at 5 in the evening. Though I enjoyed the sessions , mom felt so bored as she had none to talk in the guest house or television.

As it was boring at room after the workshop, we explored the campus.
Just to spend time, we went to canteen, cafe coffee day and some food stalls.

Passing time at CCD in the campus!! And the temperature was less that 12 degrees. So we were fully dressed in wool.

This hot badam milk was quite tasty in that chilling and freezing weather.

Hot Jelebi dipped in hot badam milk was an yummy combination!!

View of CSE department at night.

Day 3( Tuesday): Dec 4th,2017

Got ready by 8 30 a.m. and explored the campus by taking pictures.

You can zoomin to see 360 degrees view of the campus

I inquired about college buses to Jaipur starts at 5pm. So immediately after my session, we caught college bus to Jaipur and reached Hawa Mahal by 6 30 pm.

Our adventure begins!!

This beauty again!!

A perfect picture by a little girl from the city!!

Took snaps with the icon and went to Bapu Bazar for shopping.
Completed our shopping by 7:30 p.m. and went to Sindhi Camp to catch a bus to Amity. As there is no stopping at Amity, we requested driver to stop at the campus and to our luck he agreed to us.  Reached by 8 p.m. and we're damn tired to go to canteen for food. Ate some snacks and slept.

Day 4( Wednesday): Dec 5th, 2017
Pic of the day.
Amphi theatre at Amity!!
Today no adventures after the session as mom was scared.

Mom explored these beautiful flowers near to our Guest rooms.

Amlas!!

Day 5 ( Thursday): Dec 6th, 2017
We waited for Sun in the campus all days like in Western countries  and finally our wish was successful.
A Selfie under most awaited Sun!!

Spent in lab till 6:30 p.m. to complete an exercise and to take pictures but mom kept waiting for me in the freezing cold climate outside the department.
Participants!!! Though many are not present.

Had Pav Bhaji for the night which was tasty compared to rotis.

Day 6 ( Friday): Dec 7th, 2017

And this was the last day at Amity and I had mixed feelings.
The Valedictory completed by 2 p.m. and booked a cab along with one colleague at the workshop to reach Jaipur. I booked in the same hotel as it was convenient for us.
Reached hotel by 3:30 p.m.and after completing the formalities of check -in, we headed to Albert Hall Museum by Uber.

Explored it for 1 hour then again shopping in Bapu Bazar. Had street food and came to room.
Yummy Kulfi

Lassi with cream as topping!!

Onion Kachori

Day 7 ( Saturday): Dec 8th, 2017
Dedicated entire Saturday for Ajmer and Pushkar. Got ready by 7 a.m. and went to Sindhi camp to catch a bus to Ajmer. Jaipur to Ajmer is a 6- liner highway and it was in good condition. By two and half hours we reached and from there we caught a bus to Pushkar which is 10/- per person.

From Pushkar bus stand, we can find share autos to Pushkar ghat by charging 10. They call it " Dus rupee ki safari".
Water in Pushkar lake was so dirty but still I found people dipping in it and of course mom too sprinkled water on me thrice.

There were around 40 ghats in Pushkar and this is one among them.

Then we went to Brahma temple by walk. They will exploit people to buy prasadam for keeping our foot wear.
We did some shopping in Pushkar Bazar and headed to Ajmer by bus.
Don't know the name but these colorful things are used as a base to carry water pots on the head.
Door nobs made of traditional blue pottery

We got down at Savitri and took an auto to Dargah.

The autowala stopped at Delhi gate and from here we headed to Dargah by walk.

Lane of Dargah.

The Entrance!!!
You are forced to buy these flowers to keep your footwear just like in Brahma Temple of Pushkar. Though I got a perfect picture with those beautiful flowers!!

Best picture of Mom and me by a random tourist!!

A zommed one!!
Heard a lot great about this Dargah but I'm disappointed due to exploitation. People should visit Ameen peer Dargah in Kadapa which was very well maintained(Will write a detailed post on this soon).

Had lunch in a hotel nearby it and then headed to Jaipur.

Really felt "Sukoon" after having their yummy Noodles.

Aren't they yummy?

By 6:30 p.m. we reached Jaipur and then after having Rajastani's famous Dal Bhati Chorma, we took rest.

You can find these "Gajak" shops which are made of groundnuts everywhere on the streets of Pink city. Nithin, it's for you!!!

Dal Bhati Chorma!!!

Day 8( Sunday): Dec 9th, 2017

The only thing that was left in Jaipur was the forts.  As we don't have time to explore all, we have chosen Amer/ Amber fort.
Climbing the fort was so easy when compared to Golkonda fort of Hyderabad. So we went by walk than taking jeep/ elephant safari.

In a local bus!!

Sun rays on this beauty!!!

The landscape was scenic with fog on one side and rays of Sun on the fort other side.

See the background fog!!!

Beautifully decorated!!!
First court yard- Jaleb Chowk.Place where elephant and horses where tethered and also a destination for warriors to gather.
