Weekend Indulgence at ITC Maratha

Though exploring Mumbai in hot summer is exhausting but an impeccable luxury hotel boosts your energy.
This was my second visit to Mumbai but I was as excited as the first time as the stay was at ITC Maratha, one of the luxurious hotels of Mumbai.
As soon as we were about to enter the hotel, we found a group of British Airways crew crowd-in the hotel. As it is the business hotel, most of its customers are either business delegates or the Airline Crew.
Our stay at ITC Maratha was from 11th May 2018 noon to 13th May 2018 noon.

Day 1: 11th May 2018
We checked-in at around 3 p.m. after exploring Hazi Ali and Mahalakshmi Temple and there was a small welcome drinks session at the reception followed by High Tea Session.

Tea served in traditional mud pots!!!
The first thing that amazed me at ITC Maratha was the use of RFID cards as the keys and without that, you cannot access the lift or the floors that you are not permitted. Hats off to the use of advanced techniques to provide more security to their customers.
You can observe the doors which are keyless!!!!
The room which we got was a smoking room of type Tower on the 16th floor which we came to know only after entering the room due to the odour as we were late to the check-in. We didn’t try to change the room as we already knew that all the rooms were occupied. The staff helped to deal with that smell using an anti-smoke spray so that we are comfortable and it worked.

The first thing I did while entering the room was peeping in the bathroom for the provision of the bathtub as I  heard that all rooms are not provided with bathtubs. And I was on cloud nine as we got it. Perfect place to relax for hours in hot water.
The Toiletries!!!

The view from our room was fantastic with a pool and an airport view and was quite as it was the top floor.

The magazine holder and work desk table were my favourites. The In-Room coffee/ tea ensemble was so authentic arranged in a classy wooden box with many varieties of tea and coffee options.

The best thing about ITC’s is their interiors. Inspired by the Maratha Dynasty, representing our Indian culture and extensive use of marble or local stone as a decor and art ranging from Ajanta frescoes to Chitrakatha drawings.  And each floor at ITC has a unique theme to ours being the extensive use of paintings. And I think it is one among the few 5-star hotels that have both traditional and contemporary look and feels. Usage of flowers for flower and floating arrangements give us the homely feel.

We had a buffet dinner in the night which had both North Indian and Jain delicious cuisines.
Tasted all the cuisines though my tummy was already full due to late lunch. After the dinner, we explored the hotel for an hour admiring its beautiful interiors followed by a sound sleep on our cosy, dead soft and comfortable bed.

Day 2: 12th May 2018
Though we planned to wake up early to watch the Sunrise at Juhu beach, we couldn't wake up. So we were free and easy until 8 a.m. but the complimentary breakfast menu made me excited. So I woke up and made Nithin also to get ready for breakfast.
I ordered for a fruit platter in the meantime which is a complementary as well. They had provided 4 to 5 slices of pears, watermelon and apple each.
The breakfast buffet was arranged at Dakshin Coastal restaurant which has an authentic, creative and welcoming interiors representing the Southern Indian traditions and culture.

The Buffet Spread has various sections like fresh fruit juices of Watermelon, Pineapple and lassi, Local dishes section having Pav Bhaji and Kanda Poha and my most favourite section -South Indian, serving Idlis, Dosas, Punugulu with Groundnut, Tomato and Coconut Chutneys. And for fitness freaks, they also had lots of grains like quinoa, millet, ragi etc. They even had provided various cornflakes with milk options, along with bread butter and jam. For doughnuts and cupcakes lovers it's a bliss as well. Last but not least and a must is their filter coffee and Tea.

Local stone everywhere!!!

Took a nap after the heavy breakfast and then went for exploring the city. Written a separate post regarding exploring Mumbai in Summers. You can go through this link http://naishitastales.blogspot.in/2018/05/a-luxurious-and-relaxed-weekend-in.html
Returned back for the dinner buffet offering soups, biryanis, naan with paneer butter masala, subzis and Kofta. My favourite part was the dessert in which they served hot and delicious Gulab Jamoons with Rabta. Though I am not a sweet lover, I loved that combination and taste. They also had local deserts like kulfis.
Dinner buffet at Royal Gardens

Inquired about the swimming pool timings that it is from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. and it can be accessed from the 11th floor or the first floor. So we decided to access the pool at least the next day as it was the last day of us at the grand hotel.

Day 3: 13th May 2018
Got up at 6 a.m. and had relaxed at the pool for 2 hours and after a fresh-up had the delicious breakfast again but with a different menu. Had 3 glasses of watermelon juice just to stay hydrated from the hot Sun. Then we relaxed taking few snaps at the Catherines Restuarant.

Beautiful furniture at Catherines with glass windows giving the view of Royal Gardens. This Restuarant is famous for the Tea Lounge

Marble tables, Cane furniture with contemporary pillows!!

This corner at Catherines is my favourite.

Checked out at 12 noon and this ends my stay at the grand ITC Maratha though a memory for the lifetime.
