An Unplanned Trip to Mumbai

Quick!!! What is the first thing that comes to your mind when you think of Mumbai?Is it the Bollywood? or The Gateway of India? or ever crowded local trains? or Elephanta Caves? or IIT Bombay? (as I belong to teaching field)or the Slum? (you can reply in comments)

Mumbai - one of the most busiest and populous metropolitan city in India.
Never expected that I will be visiting this place in such a short notice. Its all happened in just a week. It was an official trip though I made it fun for my mom and myself.
Started to Mumbai on 25th August, by Mumbai Mail train at 2 30 pm and I was scheduled to attend a workshop on the very next day. The journey was bit boring as I didn't got seat beside window. So I slept for sometime. Took a break at Wadi junction. Climate was awesome as it was Sun Set time.

Tried all sorts of variety food items in train - starting from tomato soup to Lonovala chikki.
After a 7 hour sound sleep, we reached Mumbai Central. Caught a local train to Andheri from Central. All of us are excited as it is our first ever Mumbai local train experience.

 We didn't feel the aroma of Mumbai local trains as it is quite early. From Andheri, we took an auto to reach our hotel.

By 9 we started to our CSI Mumbai chapter by walk. Thanks to Google Navigator as we explored the real Mumbai, i e one side complete slum and the other side rich building in a 10 minute walk.

Our session completed by 3 30 pm. So our immediate goal was exploring the city.
So our itinerary on that particular day included Marine Bay, Great way of India, Taj Palace.
Marine Bay - its a must visit. Can sit there for hours enjoying the cool breezes from the shore.

Then we took a cab to Gateway of India. The place was just amazing. Spent almost an hour there and then back to our room.

My first ever Double Decker bus experience- Excited!!!

My favorite Double Decker and the ever crowded Mumbai

So we planned to visit Linking Road for shopping. Spent 2 hours in that street. You can find all sort of things from head to toe in that street at a very reasonable price.
Then we went to the most awaited place - Juhu beach. After stepping in to such soft sand of Arabian Sea and the cool water, all our tiresome flew away just like magic. Though I explored many beaches but never enjoyed as I enjoyed in Juhu beach. Completely drowned in water, took crazy selfies, built a house in sand with our legs which I used to do in childhood, enjoyed to the max.
All this couldn't happen if I don't have a good company. The main reason for this enjoyment is that  this time I did not bothered about pics , but only focused on enjoyment.

Being to Mumbai and without Mumbai's street food!!! Will never happen. Had all varieties of street food at beach side. Then  we had a walk in those streets and saw Amitab's house.

Day 3:
We started our day by visiting Sidhi Vinayaka Temple.

Then we caught a local bus to Gateway of India as we want to visit Elephanta caves(Tickets to Elephanta caves will be available at Gateway of India and the trip will start from that place by boat)
Though it took more than an hour to reach Gateway of India by local bus, we can able to see the city and to our luck, the climate was just awesome as it is cloudy.

The most beautiful Hazi Ali Dhargah-- -couldn't capture well as my bus is moving.
PS: Don't forget to visit Hazi Ali Dargah. We couldn't make it because of lack of time and knowledge about its beauty. We saw it from our bus window which was just awesome. Dargah was built in the mid of the sea. To go there, we have to walk on a bridge where waves will hit our foot directly.  The feel itself was amazing.

By 11 we reached Gate way of India and took tickets for Elephanta caves.
By 11:30 we started our trip to Elephanta by a boat. Sitting on the top of boat was worth taking. Through out the journey, you can watch all sorts of ships. The climate was awesome because of the drizzle.


After 45 mins of journey, we reached Elephanta caves.



PS: be prepared to climb around 200 to 300 steps.
But you won't feel bored while climbing as through out the climbing you can find stalls to shop and restaurants to eat.

Though most of the non-locals doesn't like Chennai due its climate, language constraint etc, but the best part about the Chennai City is its Beach..  It is on 8th June,2014. Weekend Indulgence at ITC Maratha

Though exploring Mumbai in hot summer is exhausting but an impeccable luxury hotel boosts your energy. This was my second visit to Mumbai but I was as excited as the first time as the stay was at ITC Maratha, one of the luxurious hotels of Mumbai. As soon as we were about to enter the hotel, we found a group of British Airways crew crowd-in the hotel. As it is the business hotel, most of its customers are either business delegates or the Airline Crew. Our stay at ITC Maratha was from 11th May 2018 noon to 13th May 2018 noon.  Day 1: 11th May 2018 We checked-in at around 3 p.m. after exploring Hazi Ali and Mahalakshmi Temple and there was a small welcome drinks session at the reception followed by High Tea Session. Tea served in traditional mud pots!!! My first ever accident

Never expected that my second post on my blog will be on this. But I am so excited to write  on this as this is my first accident in my life and by the way each and every moment in life is memorable. Started from kadapa on Friday by 11 30 pm bus. The journey was horrible as it is not a non-stop bus.  Reached Chennai at 6 30 am and from there, by the time I reached home it was 7 30 am. Nithin had interview on that day so he left at 9 am after having noodles and as I dint had proper sleep at night , I slept till 10.  Then I started to  meet my Sister-in- law, Harshitha at 10 30 am on my TVS Jupiter. As it is a weekend, the traffic was less and I started increasing the speed. When I reached 60, vehicle started shaking, tried to control  it but couldn't ,so fell down. If you wanna visit a place which has both historical and mythological prominence, then add Hampi to your bucket list. Picturesque landscapes, magnificent monuments of architectural importance, massive temples with a rustic look, ruins of Vijayanagar Empire,  beautiful Tungabhadra river, Sunrise and Sunset Views, Rocky hills, Giant stones - it is about Hampi in brief.  Coming to the detail, it was on 23rd Feb 2017. The colourful state of India- Rajasthan

Rajasthan always has special place in my mind as it is of my "Taste" with full of bright colors, majestic architectures, ethnic jewelry and culture.  So I'm damn happy and joyous to attend my favorite workshop in my favorite state. My itinerary includes first day in Jaipur city, next 5 days in Amity University, Jaipur, one full day to Ajmer and Pushkar, and last half day at Jaipur and then return to Hyderabad. Day 1( Sunday) : Dec 2nd, 2017 Our flight was at 9 20 a.m. from Rajiv Gandhi International Airport. So Nithin(Husband) dropped us( myself and mom) at airport at 7:30 a.m. Flight charges from Hyderabad to Jaipur:11,198/- for 2 and Jaipur to Hyderabad : 10,742/-. Explore the Unexplored- Adinimmaya Palle Reservoir!!!!!

I never imagined such scenic place exists near my hometown (Kadapa) until I saw it- #AdinimmayaPalleReservoir.  Went to that place with no expectation but it totally came out to be the best surprise ever.  It is just a 45mins drive from Kadapa and you will enjoy the scenic beauty throughout the ride.  And this place is very convenient for the people who are traveling to Hyderabad on road from Tirupati as it comes on the way.   Picturesque Millet field.... And trying to pose like Shahrukh :P  And a groupfie is a must !!!! If you are a swimmer and interested to fish, then this place is a must visit !!! All day you can see fishes swimming/jumping into the upstream and you can enjoy swimming as the depth is not so high. A well spent day at Physical Literacy Days, Hyderabad

It has been 2 and half  years since I came to Hyderabad and until 18th June 2017, I didn't attend any marathons or social events which happen every weekend here. Maybe it is because of our extreme love of movies which don't allow us to wake up early on Sundays or our travel or our laziness. Every Sunday, "Physical literacy days" -#pldays organisation conducts some social events to provide physical fitness for all classes of people near Pullela Gopichand Badminton Academy. Their activities include Yoga, Fitness tips, Bhangra, Badminton, Skating, cycling, boxing, kids games, fitness challenge, street games etc. I decided to attend this event this Sunday and started inviting my friends too so that the event can be more fun and enthusiastic though they couldn't make it except Gayathri Mokshagundam. A night walk around Charminar during Ramzan

We always visit Charminar in late nights to enjoy its beauty as the crowd will be very less and to meet our late night food cravings. But in Ramzan season, it's not the same. It is dazzling with lights of night bazaar and food stalls which will be open till 2 to 3 a.m. And to  experience the feel of a perfect Hyderabadi,  it is a must visit as you can shop in the midnight and can have perfect Hyderabadi food.  It was 10:40 p.m. on June 21st, 2017. We decided to visit Charminar as we never did in that season.  Exactly after an hour, we reached our destination. PS: It will be very difficult to find parking due to the crowd. Better opt for cabs in this season.  Finally we got parking space!!!! At first, I was little scared as it is crowded but it is totally safe and charming with lights.
